Cindy Ricksgers

Cindy works mainly with collage, acrylic paint and collagraph printing. Her abstract images begin with a compositional 'problem', like a circle dead-center on a square ground, or a heart in a commanding position. The struggle - and the joy - is then to make the composition work, with layers of color, texture and embellishments. Finished pieces reveal the process, and reflect attributes shared with all life: a sense of structure, a striving for growth, a softening with age, an attachment to the earth, and the passage of time.
